Milwaukee Jobs WI for Needy Families

A new training program will help needy families get Milwaukee jobs WI.

The State of Wisconsin recently received $34 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to create a Transitional Jobs Project as part of the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program. The project will help thousands of residents throughout the state learn the skills they need to succeed.

The program will target residents who are not eligible to receive working family assistance through the Wisconsin W-2 program, including fathers who don’t have custody of their children and young adults in the foster care system.

San Antonio Government Jobs Increase 2.3 Percent Over Year

Although the industry lost workers over the month, San Antonio government jobs saw the second-largest yearly increase in employment during June, behind only the mining and logging industry.

During June, the San Antonio-New Braunfels area’s unemployment rate increased from 7.1 percent to 7.7 percent, after decreasing from 7.3 percent during May. Despite the latest increase, the area’s rate is still lower than the national average of 9.5 percent.

The San Antonio area had a total non-farm employment of 838,100 workers during June, according to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics. This is up from 835,800 workers during May and only a .5 percent decrease from last year.

Green Jobs in Durham NC Created by Funding

A new round of funding will create a slew of green jobs in Durham NC and the surrounding area.

The North Carolina State Energy Office recently received $5.6 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to create an internship program that will put 400 local students to work in clean energy industries throughout the state.

Public and private agencies in North Carolina also have contributed $3 million toward the program, which will create jobs and internships for college students and recent graduates. More than 20 private businesses, public agencies, and universities are expected to participate.

Jobs for Veterans Created By Unique Program

One organization is implementing a unique way to provide jobs for veterans.

The Veterans Job Creation Program, which is looking to provide job opportunities for homeless veterans and veterans with disabilities, has launched in Arizona. Veterans in the program will work to deliver flyers and door hangers for numerous businesses.

The Madison Street Veterans Association, an organization of homeless and formerly homeless veterans, is providing a team of six to eight veterans who will deliver business flyers to homes in various areas throughout Maricopa County.

Art Jobs in Ft Lauderdale Saved by Stimulus

The federal stimulus package is still saving jobs in Ft Lauderdale.

The Broward Cultural Division recently distributed American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding to 17 arts organizations, including Cinema Paradiso, allowing at least one person who was previously expecting to be laid off due to financial cut backs to keep their job.

Operated by the Broward County Film Society, Cinema Paradiso is home to the annual Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and is the county’s only full-time Art House theater, showcasing independent and foreign films, documentaries, and classic films.
