General medical and surgical hospitals saw the biggest job increases in Baltimore, while physicians’ offices and community care facilities for the elderly saw the biggest job increases throughout Montgomery County.

During 2005, workers in the healthcare industry earned an average weekly wage of about $838, with those in ambulatory healthcare services earning $998 per week, hospital employees earning $878 per week and workers in nursing and residential care facilities earning $536 per week.
