The Baltimore-Towson area’s education and health services industry employed 233,100 workers during September, according to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics
. This is up from 231,100 workers during August and a 1.7 percent increase from last year.

reports that the state’s healthcare industry has continued to grow since 2001, expanding at a rate of 10.2 percent through 2005. During that time, the industry added 23,912 jobs, accounting for a growth rate more than three times that of overall expansion in the state
