One company’s decision to move its headquarters will help create 500 Miami jobs.
Spain-based Grupo Eulen recently announced its plan to move the company’s regional headquarters from Mexico City to Miami. That plan will result in the creation of 500 new jobs and a total investment of $30 million.
Grupo Eulen provides cleaning, maintenance, security and environmental services for major international companies throughout Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Central and South America and the Caribbean. The company currently has 72,000 employees and more than $2.3 billion in revenues.
According to an article by the South Florida Business Journal, Grupo Eulen recently made a large investment in ASM Aviation Services, which provides ground handling and passenger services for airlines, including cabin cleaning, ramp services and passenger services. The company currently has 1,000 employees at Miami International Airport.
The 500 new jobs will be created when ASM is re-branded as Eulen America and looks to add positions in aviation, janitorial, security, maintenance, training and elder care. Eulen America already has sales of about $300 million in the U.S., Caribbean and Latin America.
“We at Grupo Eulen are extremely pleased with our new venture with ASM and are confident that Eulen America’s commitment to quality and its experienced management team will be a strong platform for our U.S. entity,” Grupo Eulen CEO Juan Carlos Alvarez said. “Miami is at the literal crossroads of North America, Latin America and the Caribbean, and we view it as the ideal location from which to launch our North American endeavors, while expanding upon our existing operations throughout the region.”
